A middle-aged man with gray hair and a neatly trimmed beard stands indoors against a wood-paneled wall, smiling directly at the camera. He wears a short-sleeve olive-green button-up shirt with a logo on the chest and holds a green mug in one hand. Behind him, a shelf displays framed photos and small decorative items, softly lit with warm lighting that gives the room a cozy, relaxed feel. His posture is casual and confident, with one hand resting near his pocket while the other holds the mug.A middle-aged man with gray hair and a neatly trimmed beard stands indoors against a wood-paneled wall, smiling directly at the camera. A vintage black-and-white photograph shows a group of men posing together outdoors in front of service vehicles and a building. Most of the men wear matching work shirts and trousers, suggesting they are part of the same team or company. Some stand in a row at the back while a few kneel in the front, all facing the camera. The vehicles behind them appear to be older models, with equipment mounted on top, reinforcing the impression of a work crew. The image has a slightly faded, grainy quality typical of older photographs, capturing a moment of group pride and camaraderie.A vintage black-and-white photograph shows a group of men posing together outdoors in front of service vehicles and a building. Our History

Doc Dancer Plumbing, Heating, AC & Generators has been a Fort Wayne mainstay since 1946 when Robert Dancer founded the company. In 1966, Willis Bulmahn took over ownership of the company. He grew the business into a household name in the Fort Wayne area. In 1984, Willis’s son-in-law, Bill Berning Jr., joined the team and later took over the business in 1998 after Willis’s passing. He has continued the legacy of dependable, high-quality service that Fort Wayne residents have relied on for generations.

Our Mission

Today, the business is owned and operated by Bill & Nancy Berning, Steve Biggs, and Dale Hubert (pictured here). Our mission at Doc Dancer Plumbing, Heating, AC & Generators is to provide the highest quality craftsmanship in the design, installation, and service of heating, air conditioning, indoor air quality, plumbing, and generator systems for our residential and light commercial customers. We will honor God in our business conduct and by nurturing our valuable team members.

A large group of workers stands and kneels together outdoors in a parking area, posing in front of two company service vans with green-and-white branding. The vans display the name “Doc Dancer” along with plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical services. The team members wear a mix of uniforms, including khaki button-up work shirts, green branded T-shirts, jeans, and baseball caps, with some individuals sporting beards or safety glasses. A few people kneel in the front row while others stand behind them in several rows, forming a structured group arrangement. Trees with green foliage and a residential neighborhood are visible in the background, and the scene is brightly lit by natural daylight.A large group of workers stands and kneels together outdoors in a parking area, posing in front of two company service vans with green-and-white branding. A black-and-white cartoon illustration shows a humorous hospital-like scene featuring an HVAC unit as a patient. At the top, the text reads “Doc Dancer Heating & A/C.” In the center, a box-shaped air conditioning unit lies on a wheeled examination table, drawn with a human face that looks sick and uncomfortable, with a thermometer in its mouth and steam rising from the top to suggest overheating. To the left, a technician dressed like a doctor stands holding a clipboard and pen, appearing to examine or diagnose the unit. Behind him, a privacy curtain hangs partially open. On the floor near his feet is a tool bag labeled “Doc Dancer,” with tools sticking out. On the right side, a woman stands facing the technician, watching with a concerned expression. At her feet sits a small dog looking up toward the scene. On the wall in the background, a framed sign reads “That’s Comfort Since 1946.” The overall style is simple line art with exaggerated facial expressions, using humor to portray HVAC repair as a medical check-up for a “sick” air conditioning system.A black-and-white cartoon illustration shows a humorous hospital-like scene featuring an HVAC unit as a patient.
